High Speed Bond Boat Experience

Looking for a more thrilling way to see the sites of Central London without traipsing about by foot? How about spending an hour and a half rocketing down the River Thames to the sounds of James Bond theme songs? Yes, it’s exactly as cool as it sounds.

What?

This experience involves jumping on board a RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) and flying down to the River Thames at speeds of up to 45 knots – 50 mph as we land lubbers would say – whilst listening to iconic theme songs from the Bond movoies.

If that wasn’t cool enough, you’ll also be treated to true stories about the British Secret Service and Bond author, Ian Fleming. Also, if you manage to win the quiz at the end, you’ll walk away with a mighty fine cocktail shaker!

Although you won’t be given a suave three-piece, you will be provided with all the wet weather clothing you could possibly need to keep you comfortable, whatever the weather (or degree of splashing). We should also mention that alcohol is not allowed on board – that’s for highly stressed 00 agents only.

Who?

Not to generalise, but there is something about thrashing down the River Thames to classic Bond theme songs that seems to appeal more to guys more than girls. Still, this is one for everybody who thinks they’ll get a kick out of high speed water fun!

When?

The RIBs race up and down the Thames every day of the week, whilst there is enough light to do so safely.

Where?

You’ll depart from Embankment Pier and fly past the sights Canary Wharf, Greenwich and the Tower of London.

From the Megaro Hotel: from King’s Cross tube station, take the Victoria Line to Oxford Circus, change for the Bakerloo line and get off at Embankment.
